Who can borrow books from the Harris Library?

Any CWRU student, faculty or staff with a photo ID card may borrow items from the Harris Library. Online students, please contact us for assistance.

How do I find textbooks for my classes on reserve?

The Harris Library keeps one copy of each required Mandel School textbook on reserve in the library. These books are located behind the Circulation Desk and circulate generally for 3 hours. You can look up your reserves in Primo by selecting Course Reserves from the dropdown menu and searching by typing MSASS followed by the course number (e.g. MSASS 503).

Please contact us if you have questions about obtaining any of your required course readings.

How long is a borrowing period?

Most of our books can be checked out for 3 weeks. For more information about our policies including borrowing periods and fines, please refer to our website.

May I borrow items from other campus libraries?

Yes! Any CWRU student, faculty or staff are welcome to borrow materials from the other campus libraries, including the Kelvin Smith Library, the main library on campus. Just remember to bring your CWRU ID card!

How do I find library resources and information on developing research skills in general?

You can start your search for books, articles and other types of information on your topic by using Primo. Once you have an overview of your subject, try searching the Research Databases for peer-reviewed journal articles and other relevant literature.

The Kelvin Smith Library offers a comprehensive tutorial if you need an introduction or a refresher on strategies and techniques for searching information.

Last but not least, you're always welcome to stop by in person, make an appointment, or contact us by phone, email or Zoom to get personal assistance. We look forward to working with each of you.

Have a great semester!!
