Are you new to the Harris Library? This guide will help you become familiar with our resources.

Library Catalog Title Search

Use the Title option when you already know the name of a specific book or item. The following tips will increase your chance of finding a title successfully:

  • Omit any initial articles, (a, an, the) when they are the first word of a title.
  • Don’t worry about using capital letters or punctuation.
  • For example, type between the world and me, not Between the World and Me

 

Library Catalog Author Search

Search by Author when you want to see all the works created by a particular person or group. Here are a few tips to make your search a success:

  1. Enter the author’s last name first: coates ta-nehisi
  2. Put a space between names or initials: salinger j d
  3. Do not use punctuation.
